Wisconsin Lt. Gov. Sara Rodriguez Visited as Part of International Women’s Day!

We are honored to be among a handful of sites Wisconsin Lt. Gov. Sara Rodriguez visited today as part of her office’s recognition of International Women’s Day!

Members of our Board of Directors, including President Meggin McNamara (Fond du Lac County), Secretary Colleen Clift (Society Insurance), Chief Aaron Goldstein (Fond du Lac Police Department) and Linda Selk-Yerges (retired nonprofit leader/educator), discussed our agency and its goals related to ending power-based violence, strengthening community through diversity, equity and inclusion efforts, investing in partnerships with other local nonprofits and our commitment to elevating leadership opportunities for women and girls.

Additionally, grantees Daisy Frazier of EBONY VISION, Melissa Schepp of Fondy C.A.R.E.S. within the Fond du Lac School District, McKenzie Zahradnik and Kenzie Brionnes of ASTOP Sexual Abuse Center and Juana Montes-Hernandez of Fond du Lac Literacy Services shared their perspectives on work being done within their organizations and what is needed from the state to make their services more effective.

One of our roles as a Women’s Fund is to work toward systemic change that provides greater equity for women and girls. Having the ear of the state’s top woman in political office is certainly helpful in working toward such change. Thank you to Lt. Gov. Sara Rodriguez for visiting our community and hearing about what’s important to us!
