Power of the Purse 2019

Fond du Lac Area Women’s Fund announces its 15th annual “Power of the Purse” luncheon, its largest fundraiser, on Wednesday, April 17th , at Radisson Conference Center (previously Holiday Inn). Registration, networking, and prize baskets raffle start at 10:30 a.m., with the luncheon and program from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

Fond du Lac Area Women’s Fund invests in Fond du Lac area women and girls through grants to local programs that can change lives. This year’s luncheon will continue focus and growth upon “Fond du Lac Says NO MORE: Preventing Violence Against Fond du Lac Area Women & Children” initiative.

Keynote speaker Jess Ekstrom, a renowned, award winning, motivational speaker known for inspiring people to become leaders who give back to their community, crush stereotypes, identify their purpose, and create success. Jess founded & runs Headbands of Hope, a social enterprise that impacts hundreds of thousands of kids with cancer around the world. Her message to guests will center around taking action and making a difference together.

A luncheon highlight will be presentation of 2019’s “Women of Achievement” award, honoring local women whose tireless efforts, through visionary thinking, entrepreneurial spirit, leadership, and/or philanthropy, made a significant difference, or greatly enhanced, quality of life in our community. The 2019 recipient will be Daisy Frazier. Past recipients are: Sandi Braun Roehrig, Marian Sheridan, Terri Emanuel, Dottie Keenan, Patricia Miller, Dawn Colwin and Dorothy Klumpyan, Jo Ann Ward, Judy Goldsmith, Barbara Lent, Virginia Gilmore, Mary Fran Merwin, Ruth Michels, Dr. Joan Regan, Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes, and Shelly Stayer.
