The Fond du Lac Area Women’s Fund offers community volunteer engagement through service in a variety of ways. Previous experience is not required, but a passion for our mission and foundational focus areas is necessary. Foundational focus areas are: economic self-sufficiency; education; leadership development; and safety, dignity and
freedom from violence.
Being on a committee is a great opportunity to gain experience or give back while connecting with local leaders passionate about supporting women and girls!
Our committees are 100% volunteer-based and focus on a variety of projects throughout the year – from education initiatives to fundraisers and beyond. Most committees meet once a month.
Communications/Marketing Committee (meets monthly noon to 1 p.m. on 2nd Tuesday) supports the overall mission and work of all committees within the Women’s Fund through strategic marketing guidance and support if/when needed, as well as tactical execution of any press/media relations, print or advertising material, social media and/or digital and Web content. The Community Education Committee raises the level of awareness in the community on critical issues that disproportionately and adversely impact women and girls, and to achieve this goal through measurable outcomes. For the first half of 2021, these committees will meet jointly to maximize volunteer time and activity overlap.
Development Committee assures the Women’s Fund has a comprehensive and effective development strategy, robust prospective donor program, and an engaging stewardship and recognition process. (Meets monthly noon to 1 p.m. on 3rd Thursday.)
Recommend granting priority areas to Board, develop grant guidelines and application, recommend grant awards to the board, and monitor & assess the use of grant funds. (Meets as needed June through December.)
Finance Committee (meets as needed) oversees the financial state and performance of the Women’s Fund. (Experience in the field is required.)
