2018 Grants Awarded Supporting Women & Girls

Fond du Lac Area Women’s Fund has awarded its 2018 grants. Programs selected are a mix of new programs and existing ones having a demonstrated record of success. Most 2018 awards address an aspect of the Women’s Fund’s current initiative, Fond du Lac Says No More: Preventing Violence Against Fond du Lac Area Women and Children.

Congrats to 2018 Grant Recipients

New Anger Management Program for Parents | Family Resource Center
Family Resource Center received $7,500 to support a new Anger Management Program for parents, some of whom have increased risk factors like being teen or single moms, in poverty or experiencing mental health issues, to help reduce child abuse risks.

Pregnant & Parenting Teens Program | Badgerland Youth for Christ
“Parent Life”, Badgerland Youth for Christ’s program for pregnant and parenting teens, was awarded $5,500.

Sexual Assault Prevention Education | ASTOP
$5,000 went to ASTOP, supporting its Sexual Assault Prevention Education program in Fond du Lac County K-12 schools and colleges.

Student Financial Support for Women | Moraine Park Technical Collefge
Moraine Park Technical College’s “Student Emergency Fund”, for Fond du Lac County women at risk of dropping out of college due to unforeseen financial emergencies, was awarded $4,000.

Emergency Assistance for Domestic Violence Survivors | Solutions Center
Solutions Center’s “Empowering Women and Girls: Emergency Assistance” program received $2,500. This collaborative effort with SSM Health Domestic Violence Services provides emergency financial assistance for domestic violence survivors.

SMART Girls Program | Boys & Girls Club of Fond du Lac
Boys & Girls Club of Fond du Lac received $2,000 for “SMART Girls” for girls aged 11-16. It develops positive attitudes and builds effective life skills, including healthy relationships.

Domestic Violence Survivor Support | SSM Health Domestic Violence Services
$2,000 was also awarded to SSM Health Domestic Violence Services for a holistic psychoeducation and therapy group, including equine therapy, for domestic violence survivors.

Tutor Training & Program Support | Fond du Lac Adult Literacy Services
Fond du Lac Adult Literacy Services received $1,580, supporting volunteer tutor training and workbooks and online program fees for learners.
