Fond du Lac Area Women’s Fund Awards 2017 Grants
Pillar & Vine received $7,450 for a new program for children in foster care and the community, “Camp S.K.I.L.L.S. (Supporting Kids in Learning Leadership-based Skills)”. St. Vincent de Paul Fond du Lac County’s “Getting Ahead”, an 18-week mentored educational program assisting adults to move beyond the “just getting by” world of poverty, was awarded $5,000. Read more ›
A $3,500 grant went to Moraine Park Technical College’s “Student Emergency Fund”, for Fond du Lac County women at risk of dropping out of college due to unforeseen financial emergencies. Read more ›
Girls on the Run, a Fond du Lac School District program weaving 5K run training with a 12-week curriculum that builds confidence, self-respect and healthy lifestyles, received a $3,440 grant supporting expansion to all Fond du Lac middle schools and elementary schools within the Fond du Lac area. Fond du Lac Center for Spirituality & Healing received $2,600 for a new program, “YOGA’s Way to Reduce Domestic Abuse”. It will include two series of yoga and meditation sessions, one for survivors of domestic violence, one for perpetrators who have a desire to change their behavior. Read more ›
Solutions Center’s “Empowering Women and Girls: Emergency Assistance” program was awarded $2,500. This collaborative effort with Agnesian Domestic Violence Services provides emergency financial assistance for domestic abuse survivors. Read more ›
Marian University received $2,100 to support a laptop lending project for its TRIO-Student Support Services Program, serving students considered at risk of not completing a bachelor’s degree. 75% of participants are women. Read more ›
Boys & Girls Club of Fond du Lac received $2,000 for “SMART Girls” for girls aged 11-16. It develops positive attitudes and builds effective life skills, including healthy relationships. Read more ›
