Since 2005, the Women's Fund has held an annual luncheon, now known as the "Power of the Purse" event.  It is the Women's Fund's largest fundraiser of the year, featuring an informative and inspirational keynote speaker on subjects relevant to issues that face women of all ages, and how every woman has the power to bring about social change through philanthropy.

A highlight of the luncheon is the presentation of the "Women of Achievement" award,  recognizing one or more women who have made a significant difference or greatly enhanced the quality of life in our community.  Past recipients of this award are:  Shelley Stayer; Congregation of St. Agnes; Dr. Joan Regan; Ruth Michels; Virginia Gilmore; Mary Fran Merwin; Barbara Lent; Judy Goldsmith; and Jo Ann Ward.
